August 15, 1932 – Jim Lange, best known as the host of ABC’s “The Dating Game,” was born on this date in St. Paul, Minn. Lange attended and graduated from St. Thomas Academy and the University of Minnesota.

“The Dating Game” with Jim Lange ran from 1965 – 1980, and contestants included many future celebrities before they became famous, including:

- Arnold Schwarzenegger (1973)
- Suzanne Somers (1973)
- David Cassidy (1970)
- Farrah Fawcett (1969)
- Sally Field (1966)
- Tom Selleck (1965 and 1967)
