On This Date in Minnesota History: April 9

April 9, 1891 – “Heavy snow is falling with northerly wind [in Sauk Centre, Minn.]. The snow commenced about 4 this afternoon. Over four inches are on the ground now. Last night there was a thunderstorm and high wind. The roof was taken from the Avalanche Building and cornices and chimneys carried away.”
