On This Date in Minnesota History: March 6

March 6, 1852 – Hennepin County, Minn. was established on this date, and named after “Louis Hennepin, the Franciscan missionary, explorer, and author, who was born in Ath, Belgium, about 1640, and died in Holland about 1701.”
