On This Date in Minnesota history: June 11

June 11, 1887 – The village of Hallock, county seat of Kittson County, Minn., was incorporated on this date. The town was named for one of its founders, Charles Hallock, a man from New York City who for many years came to the Northwest corner of Minnesota to hunt.
