February 15, 2013 – “Mary Jo Copeland was awarded the Presidential Citizens Medal, the nation's second-highest civilian honor, [by President Obama] at the White House [on this date]. Copeland was recognized for her work providing food, shelter and clothing to people who come to Sharing and Caring Hands, a non-profit she [started in 1985 and]1 runs near Target Field” in downtown Minneapolis.2
