October 10, 1966 – “The United States Supreme Court ruled
that it would not review the conviction of T. Eugene Thompson, a St. Paul
lawyer who was sentenced to life imprisonment in the 1963 slaying of his wife.
Thompson’s attorney, F. Lee Bailey, had petitioned the Supreme Court to grant a
writ of certiorari to bring Thompson’s trial before the Supreme Court for
review.”
