June 23, 1990 - According to Runner’s World, a print/web publication, 2012 Republican vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan ran in Duluth’s Grandma’s Marathon on this date with a time of 4:01:25.1
However, in an August 23, 2012, radio interview on the Hugh Hewitt Radio show, Ryan said that “his personal best for a 26.2-mile (42-kilometer) marathon was ‘under three, high twos. I had a two-hour-and-fifty something.’”2 This particular Grandma’s is the only marathon Ryan has ever run.
