On This Date in Minnesota History: December 7
December 7, 1863 – “Richard W. Sears was born in Stewartville, Minnesota [on this date]. His
mail-order idea developed the A. C. Roebuck Company housed on the seventh floor
of the Globe Building in Minneapolis. Renamed Sears, Roebuck and Co., it was
headquartered later in Chicago.”
