On This Date in Minnesota History: May 18

May 18, 1995 - The Lawrence A. and Mary Fournier House is a house in the Cleveland neighborhood of Minneapolis, Minn. The architect, Lawrence Fournier, was a draftsman in the firm of Purcell & Elmslie. The design reflects the Prairie School's emergence and influences that were beginning to take root within the American Craftsman movement. The Prairie School influence is shown in the long horizontal bands of windows, while the front entry porch is a Craftsman design with massive masonry pillars. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on this date.
