March 21, 1881 - Warren became the
county seat of Marshall County on this date. The town was “named in honor of
Charles H. Warren, general passenger agent of the St. Paul, Minneapolis and
Manitoba railway company,”1 which was renamed the Great Northern
company in 1890.
