On This Date in Minnesota History: March 8

March 8, 1918 – March 8, 1918 – Carl Wold, editor of The Park Region Echo, Alexandria, Minn., former state representative, was found guilty today of sedition on account of editorials printed, and sentenced to three months in jail and pay a $200 fine. Judge Parson of Fergus Falls heard the case.

Wold printed editorials in his paper discouraging enlistments and admitted to having written them.
