On This Date in Minnesota History: August 26

August 26, 1980 – Listed simply as “Finnish Sauna,” this former public bathhouse was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on this date. It was built in 1912 “to serve Finnish immigrant miners and their families” in Virginia, Minn.
