October 3, 2008 – “Thomas [Tom] Petters (51), founder of Petters Co., was arrested in Minnesota on charges of mail and wire fraud, money laundering and obstruction of justice. Over 20 investors and investment groups were thought to have been bilked of over $100 million and losses claimed by funds could top $2 billion.”
