May 18, 1911 – Hackensack, Minn., a city in Birch Lake Township, “was incorporated as a village on June 5, 1903, and separated from the township” on this date. “It had a station of the Minnesota and International Railway; it was also the home of Lucette Diana Kensack, Paul Bunyan's girlfriend.”
