On This Date in Minnesota History: April 17

April 17, 2009 - St. Charles, Winona County, Minn., was evacuated on this date when a large fire at North Star Foods, a poultry processing plant, threatened anhydrous ammonia tanks. The plant was completely destroyed. Residents were allowed to return the next day.
