On this Date in Minnesota History: September 2

September 2, 1924 – “Spectators -- 13,000 of them -- packed the [Martin County fairgrounds in Fairmont] in a massive rally when 1,100 Ku Klux Klan members from all over the Midwest came to initiate 400 Minnesota candidates as members of the KKK.”
